The Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation, Mr. Julius Korir, CBS, accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Samburu County, the Chairperson of the Northern Water Works Development Agency (NWWDA), Hon. Nasri Sahal, and the CEO, Mr. Andrew Rage, conducted an inspection of the ongoing Maralal Water Supply Project in Maralal, Samburu County.
The project, which sources its water from the recently completed Yamo Dam, seeks to significantly enhance the reliability of water supply in Maralal Town by augmenting the existing system and addressing the long-standing challenge of inadequate water provision.
The project scope includes:-
• Construction of a Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of 9,000 m³/day
• A 1.4 km raw water main from the dam
• Installation of main transmission pipelines to Maralal Town
Once completed, the project will mark a major milestone in improving access to clean, safe, and reliable water for the residents of Maralal Town and its environs.
