Ijara water supply serves the people of Masalani town in Ijara constituency, Ijara Subcounty in Garissa County. The Project commenced on 4thJanuary 2021 vide Contract No. NWWDA/T/CW/015/2020-2021 and was complete on the 31stJanuary 2022. It has improved access to safe water for the 64,000 residents of Masalani town and its environs. The project entailed the following works:

  • Testing and Commissioning of a 2000m3/Day Conventional Water Treatment Plant
  • Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Raw and Treated Water Pumping sets
  • Testing and commissioning of 6km DN 250 uPVC grade 41 Sludge Disposal Line
  • Construction of a Modern Pump House at the Intake works station
  • Supply, Installation Testing and commissioning of 2No Electrical Control Boards

Construction of 3km DN 80 HDPE pipeline to Shurie and Yusuf Haji Secondary schools
