This project is being implemented in Marsabit township in Saku Constituency which is the headquarters of Marsabit County. The project commenced on 1st November 2018 vide Contract No. TWSB/ADB/003/2017-2018 and is currently substantially complete. The objective of the project is to provide the 40000 residents of Marsabit town and its close environs with a safe way of disposing sewage and wastewater by constructing 37km long sewerage network and two sewage treatment plants of total treatment capacity 5,694 m³/day.
2 No. sewage treatment plants have been constructed; one in Dakabaricha and the other in Jirime. The total length of sewer lines already constructed is 28km.
The percentage of completion of the project currently ( July 2024) stands at 87% (ongoing).
