The Northern Water Works Development Agency (NWWDA) was earlier established as Northern Water Services Boards through a Kenya Gazette Notice No. 1716 dated 12th March 2004 as a State Corporation under the State Corporations Act and the Water Act 2002. The water Act 2016 was enacted and the Northern Water Services Board, was gazetted as Northern Water Works Development Agency vide special issue of Kenya Gazette No. 28 dated 26th April 2019.

Read MorePS Water and Sanitation Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh on 10th March 2023 visited Sigle and Taraktali Farms in Wajir south constituency. The PS was impressed by horticultural produce and the organic nature of the farming exhibited. The land is virgin and no chemicals are used. The PS applauded the farmers efforts and urged them to be a good examples in the entire county and feed the Wajir county and eventually the rest of Kenya.
The newly constructed 20m high Bakuli 4 dam in Marsabit Town. The dam has a storage capacity of 300000m3. It is designed to supply 1200m3 of water per day for treatment and domestic use , an increase from about 258m3/day.
